Get Cape, Wear Cape ... Fly

Autumn is a funny but lovely time of year, nippy but not freezing, blue skies & sunshine, but crisp frosty lawns in the morning. I think it's a pretty season, and I do quite enjoy the summer to winter clothing transition too. It's not quite time for thick winter coats & outfits hidden below scarfs and boots, but it needs more than just a silk blouse and blazer.
. 730 am photos = sleepy eyes (oops) .

This is where my lovely collection of transition coats come in, the denim jacket, summer blazers & leather jackets are put a way, and my Autumn coats come out to play. Think wax jackets, parkas & cute capes ... not the most practical and warming of coats, but absolutely perfect for Autumn.
. Topshop Cape £80 (old) . Misguided Deina Boots .

This cape was a coat I picked up from Topshop last year (or the year before - I can't remember). I absolutely love love love this cape and fell in love with it immediately. I have too many coats, it's a serious issue,  I have about 15 standard coats and that doesn't even include jackets or blazers etc. Waghh. Anyway, I always say to myself every year I won't buy anymore, but always do (I have no self control). But the benefit of this is that I have a coat for every occasion ... and i've actually found them to be quite timeless, and every year I get good use out of them all.

This cape is perfect for a classy evening dinner & I find it so cosy to wear. I love the military button details & the high neck, it looks great when your hair is just tied up in a messy bun.

What do you think of my old school cape? Do you have a big collection of coats which you've hoarded over the years too? What outerwear do you wear in Autumn?
